These prehistoric creatures from the deep dark north comes up with this magical mystery machine, something that is not prehistoric. This Swedish quartet gives us their second album, the first one is supposed to be considered art and it was released in 2018. The artwork of this one is pretty artistic, and really cool, I think such an album would look pretty nice in the record collection – and it sounds good as well, so a given choice perhaps.

Really progressive animals these guys, their music goes in several different directions and isn’t easy to pinpoint in a simple way, but atmospheric and progressive rock is probably a good way to describe how this sounds. The sound is excellent and they sound fresh, the vocalist is good and they have good variation throughout the seven tracks. The playing time is pretty sensible with a playing time of little over forty-five minutes, all but one of the tracks play for over six minutes.

A great album with great tracks, already from the start of the album you hear that it is great. Floodgate that opens the album is pretty excellent, but I think that the ten-minute epic that ends it all is the best of the album making you leave with a sense of wanting to hear more. It is a bit of a magical ride in a mystery machine, or something like that. I think it is both a fresh and exciting album with no noticeable weaknesses, there are always some but nothing that really weakens the case of this album. I think it is great.

Pretty much an album for anyone who likes great music, I recommend that you have a closer look at it as it has so much to offer in terms of great and exciting music. I really like that from time to time I find albums that feels fresh and interesting instead of the usual meh that comes in the mailbox, and this doesn’t just sound good it looks good to. So, there is a very good argument for adding this one to the record collection.
