They are a reliable band, Maverick, all the albums we have reviewed so far has been given the same rating so I wouldn’t be too surprised if this is the same. Ethereality is the fourth album by this band and true to tradition it is covered by a pretty uninteresting artwork. Still, when I research it I notice that the band has received many high ratings, so maybe they are good. Then I remember that most reviewers online are ridiculously positive about most albums they review, so what can I say about this one?

Ethereality is true to the band’s tradition when it comes to style, classic hardrock or heavy metal. It isn’t an album that offers surprises, it isn’t an album that brings novelty, it is a fairly standardised album of the genre when it comes to the stylistic. The production is pretty good, which is to say that it is around the genre average. The same is true on variation as well, good thing is that they keep it very sensible in playing time with little under forty minutes, longer would have been pretty detrimental to the album.

Not the most exciting album I have heard, it is pretty good and especially the second track Thirst is a very good track. I think this track gives this album a bit more life than it might deserve, because in the end it is a pretty average album for the genre. Fans of the band will find the album most pleasing, probably even outstanding; some reviewers do like it as well. But I doubt that it is an album that will stand out in comparison with what else is out there – there are just so many great albums and then even more average and poor album that clouds the view of the great ones, and this is more akin to those average than the great ones.

If you are a fan of this band, or perhaps of the genre, you probably will want to look closer at this album. If you are a more general music fan you might have a harder time finding space for Ethereality in your heart, I don’t think that it is good enough to be interesting or exciting. It is decent enough but will never really stand out. But they are a very reliable band, the rating is the same this time as well.
