Sometimes all you really need to say about an album is that it has a great looking artwork covering a lacklustre album. The most unexpected revelation about Twin’s album Wasteland is that it is from an up and coming new band rather than some tired old geezers trying to live up to days of old. It feels like a lacklustre seventh album from a tired old band that is struggling for inspiration. Their album Wasteland feels like an uninspired piece of music.

Typical working class hardrock music, simple and to the point and it is fairly heavy with a standard production and a rather standard vocalist. Creatively uninteresting, undramatic, unexciting, are all words that come to mind when listening to this album. An album that I cannot concentrate on for even a few second, when I am trying to think of it when not listening to it and I cannot come to think of anything about it, it makes no impression on me. And it has the audacity of being quite long as well. Yeah, I find myself quite unimpressed of what I hear.

This is just standard stuff, a standard album with standard songs. There is nothing about this album that makes it stand out and in the end it is doomed to be forgotten, perhaps even buried under a massive pile of unwanted items gathered during a lifetime spent on unexciting stuff. I don’t think they should have made this album and I don’t think that the label should have released it, it may seem a bit mean to write things like that but that is what I think about it.

In the end I think these guys need to find their own identity and try not to be like any old tired band, I could not even think of any similar bands to compare them with as I could not really take in any of the album as its tired and lacklustre music failed to make any kind if impression. Hopefully their future works sounds as good as this one looks.
