Time again for Unherz, this is the quartet’s fifth album since the debut back in 2010. A solid band with good albums all the way through makes one always start the work with a new Unherz album with some anticipation. Sure they have never been fantastic or amazing but their albums has been solid good albums and this one certainly looks interesting and last time they had an album that looked exciting it was rather exciting as well. The album is called Jetzt Oder Nie and you all know what that means so let me write some stuff about this new album.

Musically it is hard-rock with some hints of punk-rock and metal, it is straight to the point and doesn’t require a degree in rocket surgery to be understood. It is simplistic music that is easy to take in and easy to like, it is also well produced and has good energy and drive. One thing though, this might be more true for the rocket surgeons than the welders, is that it may appear a little simplistic and repetitive if you listen to it a few times within a short time frame. Otherwise the album is rather short and to the point with eleven tracks playing for just over 40 minutes and a little longer with two bonus tracks if you get the limited edition digipak.

It is good this album, not fantastic or amazing but it is an entertaining album with good songs – and it is amusing that they sings in German which spices it up a little bit. They do however, not offer up anything that we haven’t heard before – not exactly unique is one way to describe it. But I think overall one can be entertained by this album, especially if one doesn’t have any demands and wants the music to require any deeper thought because that is something this album does not, it is a simple album – that is its strength and its weakness.

The title track that begins the album is the highlight of the album and if you get the digipak-version, which is the one I think you should get, you also get the great track Seite An Seite that ends that limited edition album. It is a great track that we have heard before. Overall I think this is an album that will not disappoint anyone who gets it, but at the same time it is one that you can just as easily be without – good enough is probably the best way to describe it.
