Gun Barrel is back with their sixth album called Damage Dancer. A german band that has been around since 2000 and thrilled the fans of traditional hardrock/metal with their straightforward dirty hardrock music. This new album has a cool looking album cover art, it looks fascinating. With the same personnel as last time around I suppose we should not expect too much in terms of new revelations but I suppose the hardcore fans are salivating over another album like the last.

And musically it is the same as last time meaning that it is straightforward hardrock music with lots of spirit and attitude, not unlike what they offered us last time around. I suppose some would say biker rock. The production is good, modern yet dirty and powerful, very solid rock album. Nothing to shake the world of rock music but a solid production much like I have come to expect from this band.

Well, there is not much other to say than that it is a good album, a solid production with plenty of energy. Not that much variation and a tad long playing time but it is still not too long to endure. It is enjoyable to listen to, I think it is great as driving music or background music when doing anything with background music. Highly recommended for fans of this kind of dirty hardkicking rock’n’metal, Gun Barrel never disappoints.

Most of the tracks might be a bit anonymous but they are solid and good, the title track and the sixth track Building a Monster are both great tracks that I thoroughly enjoy. Much more isn’t really needed to say, this album is solid and good but it is nothing that will ever go down in history but as a moment’s distraction it works quite well but nothing I can’t live without.
