Skinwalker is a thing of Navajo legend, but it is also a debut EP from a German trio called Pabst. It is not the longest of EPs I have seen, it has only five tracks and it plays for only sixteen minutes – sometimes that is enough for you to know that these guys have something to offer. They do offer an 10” vinyl in 300 copies so you have to hurry a little if you want to own it, and it wouldn’t be such a bad thing to own it.

Grunge is a good way to describe this EP, little spiced up with stoner rock, noise rock and some more poppish element. Great and dirty sound, the production is simply excellent and so are the performances. It is a well-made little thing. The songs are somewhat varied and there are many interesting things about it, they sound rather fresh and they have put their own flavour on a rather familiar musical dish.

They are very good, that’s for sure. I really like the sound and the vocal performances are quite strong as well, I think they do just about everything right with this EP. All the songs are really strong with the title track as the biggest highlight of the thing. A very strong debut of course and an EP I really cannot do anything but recommend in a review that hopefully is as short and to the point as the EP.
