Austrians from out of nowhere on the catwalk, an Austrian quartet named Catwalk is returning following 20 years of silence. If we are to believe what it says in the press material where I found that statement, it speaks of a comeback and such things but I can’t really find that they have done any albums before this one, their website says that Out of Nowhere is their one album and I don’t really find any information on any other source either. But we take their word for it, and conclude this info about the band by stating that it isn’t the original line up from that time that makes this album but at least the vocalist remains.

Musically we are dealing with kind of retro-ish hardrock music with some touches of progressiveness and some other elements. Stylistically uninteresting I would say as it doesn’t really offer anything that we haven’t already heard. Decent production overall and the vocalist is quite alright as well, I think their music could be appealing to quite a few. Quite a long album as well, 71 minutes long and I don’t really think it has enough variation to keep anyone listening interested for such a long time.

I believe it is a decent album, it has some highlights and some not so high lights. It probably works best for those into retro rock. But I doubt that it is an album that will really make much of an impression, certainly an album that is fast forgotten. And sure you could do very much worse than buying this album, but you can also do a whole lot better as this is a good but ultimately a very forgetful album.

There are some highlights like my favourite track Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde that is really good, and also the track called It Came on to Rain is good albeit with a long soloing part that makes it a little less good. In the end I think it is really difficult to say much about this album, it kind of fails to make any lasting impression.
