The Wicked Sensation is back, after an extended stay away from the spotlights due to different types of rotten luck staring the band in the face. One of which was a cyst on the vocal chords for singer Robert Soeterboek who needed to undergo surgery. At this time the album had already taken a long time and Robert thought they should replace him to get the album done. They got the help from none other than David Reece who took on the vocal duties for this album which is the fourth by this band.

Adrenaline Rush and a cover artwork with an engine on it, it shouldn’t be so hard to guess how this album sounds. Energetic, high paced melodic hard rock is what it is all about. No-nonsense is what they deliver, impressive energy is what they deliver on this album. Catchy choruses, great vocals and lots of power. Very solid production and very good sound is what we have on this album, they do what they have done before but with a little fresher sound perhaps. It sounds like Wicked Sensation and fans of the band will not be disappointed with this album, they will not be surprised either I think. The album is 52 minutes long and has a good variation over the eleven tracks we get on this album. I don’t think anyone will grow bored too easily with this album and the songs on it.

I think this is a very good album, strong songs and plenty of energy. This is how rock music should sound, no-nonsens and straight to the point. Catchy and songs that get to the head, it is what hard rock music should be all about. Sure you could blame them for not reinventing their music or the genre, you could easily do that and it would be a valid point because they are not really bringing out anything we haven’t heard before. On the other hand, when it is made this good with such great music it kind of negates some of the disadvantage they have by doing music in the vein of others. And these guys certainly have that kind of qualities in their music and I can recommend this album for fans of the band and the genre.

There are several very good songs on this album, one of those is Blue Painted Sky which is the best song on the album. But we have more good songs in the opener King of the World which sets a great tone for the album with a catchy energetic tune. Then we can also add the title track which is very strong and the third track Misery is also a great track. Any fan of the band or this kind of music will not be disappointed, it may not be the most innovative album ever but it is one enjoyable piece of music.
