Rock nomad Mike Tramp who has been on a worldwide journey, touring and living as a modern life nomad, in his quest for personal and artistic freedom and staying true to the idea of the rock n roll troubadour, is back with a new album. This journey spoken of in the press release also states that the guy has been doing three tours in the USA all with 50 shows or more within the last three years – he has certainly been a busy man this Tramp fellow. “With Nomad Tramp completes what he calls his trilogy on his journey to show who he is and where he stands. The album makes the final step on the ladder he started climbing (with Cobblestone street), this time with a full band album, from first to last song.” It all sounds very exciting and it also has a fitting cover with the nomad and his moped.

It is melodic rock music; it has drive and emotion through the ten songs. It sounds familiar but also fresh and interesting and not like much watered out stuff we get to review. Tramp sings brilliantly, with a great voice and strength behind his words. The production is very good as well, excellent sound and the ten tracks shows pretty good variation. The album plays for 46 minutes and that can be said to be a good conservative playing time for an album of this nature, I doubt that it will feel repetitive – though fans of very heavy music will probably not be overly impressed as this is not heavy.

I think that this is a great album, an inspiring one. The feat to sound familiar yet fresh is always something that is impressive, there aren’t too many bands that feels relevant today but Tramp and his new album certainly does that. And it is always refreshing to find something you want to play over and over again; it is great to listen to this album. I don’t think that this album has any real weakness; sure every album has weaknesses and this is no exception but nothing of it really matters and I really enjoy this album – it has more or less everything you need. For me this feels like a very recommended album, well worth giving some time and attention – it is rewarding listening to it.

All the songs on the album are really good; none of them stand out in a negative way. The opening track Give it All You Got, the fourth track Bow and Obey and my favourite track High as a Mountain are all excellent tracks. I really like this album, it has no real weaknesses and I will keep this album in my ipod even now that I have finished my work on it. And I think that you should check it out as well, you will miss something otherwise.
