Once I saw a movie called Narnia, it was a movie about some kids, a lion, fawns or was it a fawn. Whatever it was, it was a decent adventure movie for the younger audiences but if you like movies with fawns and stuff I’d say you should go for Pan’s Labyrinth which is maybe the best movie ever, at least one of them. But enough of that now, it is said in an information site about the metal music that the band is inspired by C.S. Lewis stories and for you who cannot make the connection or know anything, said Lewis is the one who wrote the stories of Narnia, the world behind the closet or something in that fashion, don’t really know as I haven’t read the books only seen the first movie. I haven’t even seen the sequel and while on something I haven’t done, can’t really say that I have heard much of Narnia before this record.

Narnia is also known for their religious, Christian lyrical themes and I don’t mean themes about the former singer Christian Rivel or Liljegren or whatever his name is. In a way it is a little different from many of the dark metal bands singing about Satan and the other darker themes, well no matter that as religion is not of any consequence for the music in reality.

Musical Narnia plays happy metal or something in that fashion. Guess their Christian religious thing makes for that happy mood as I think their religion is all about spreading a happy message to the ignorant masses or something. Well anyways, it is power metal with all that entitles, not really earth shattering.

So, what do I think? Well, I’m bored, this record is boring, well it really isn’t boring but the musical preaching isn’t really my cup of tea. But forgetting about preaching, the music is actually alright, it has nice melodies and catchy enough choruses, sure we have heard it before, many times. So when looking at it we can see that it is well made and well crafted but with a little lack of own initiative. The fact that they try to convert me into their religion however is not fine, not in any way, whatever happening to letting the individual decide what path in life they wanted to take? Well Narnia might be crusaders, but crusaders with a melodic crusade.

What the hell am I writing about? No idea but this record is in all fairness a fine record I just wished that they didn’t preach as much love and joy and whatever.

In the end I give this album an okay rating.
