Praying for Cancer (Video)

“When The Cumshots from Oslo steps onstage, a veritable hurricane breaks loose: wraparound guitars, drums that hammer the air like pneumatic drills, and a singer who gives all he’s got and more as he wrings audience frenzy down to the last drop.” This is the first lines of the promo sheet and that probably sounds alright but is it really so? Well as I have never seen the band I cannot really tell.

Musically we are dealing with a very straightforward group of Norwegian people who are making music. Their music is straight ahead with no sidetracks or nothing inventive, just straight ahead punkrock/metal where the main emphasis is on the energy which this record show a great deal of.

But how is the quality of the record? Well I will have to say no to that question. No because it has nothing that can really interest me as a listener and that is always interesting and good no matter what others say. Even straightforward music needs some inventing stuff, something to grab the listener and keep him/her listening to the music.

Another thing to mention is the stupid name that you should be careful before you use it when searching the net. They have a name that might bring out some not so very interesting sites and not very suited for watching in the office as well. So only for the name I will remove one point and for the lack of quality when it comes to the music another point will be removed.

So when I summarise this record I can conclude that it is not something I can recommend as it is a very boring and poorly performed record but if you are into the oldish punkrock you might like it since it contains loads of energy but energy alone just isn’t enough to impress and grab a listener and therefore this record cannot be considered approved for listening.
