Some time last year I wrote a short review of the first side of the album called Back With a Bang by Mirjam and her friends wearing dirty denims. This part 1 was a good indication of what’s to come; six tracks and now we get six more and the full album. The artwork is the same and it would certainly look good in my vinyl collection so it is certainly a very tempting prospect this album. But what about it then?

It has a dozen tracks and it plays for 40 minutes, 40 intensive minutes with high energy rock ‘n’ roll. Mirjam sings well and with decent passion. I also think that the production is rather good and there is a quite good variation through the tracks as well. Sure, it can hardly be described as something creatively exciting, they run a concept tried and tested by many before them. Think of bands like Vixen, Joan Jett, The Donnas, Heart, Heavy Tiger and the likes of them and you will have a rather good idea of how this album sounds.

Yeah, this is great stuff and I can recommend it. All the songs have strong hit-potential and I think that the energy and the fluidity of this album makes it great to listen to it over and over again. Then there is always the argument of them not really doing anything we haven’t before and that would be a valid argument, but when you do things very well that argument becomes less important to the end result – and these guys do it really well. That means that it is a great album and I have to wonder why it took me so long to finally listen to it, especially since I thought part one was good.

All the tracks are, as I alluded to before very good and I don’t think there are any weaker track on this album. None of the tracks really stand out above the others but I think tracks like Virtual Reality, One Way Ticket and Can’t Get Enough of Rock & Roll are perhaps a bit more memorable than the rest of the tracks on the album. And I think this is how rock ‘n’ roll should sound, this is great stuff and I can recommend it. I guess you can claim that they are back with a massive bang, a bang you should have a closer look at.
