The soundtrack to what I want to do with the new crapbook I wasted a big load of money on recently, the bandname tells what I want. It would feel both great and bad to smash this machine to pieces but that isn’t what I am reviewing this time. It is the third album by these guys, the first one I hear and it is called Rise and Shine. It has a funny enough looking artwork and ten tracks among which one is brilliant and one is repugnant, but before we get to that lets write some other words.

The style of this band is poppish rock/metal music easily accessible with catchy choruses and excellent production. The singer is quite good, and the band is rather good at what they do even though it feels like they try to cater to everyone and in the process becomes a decent band that probably won’t excite many. But they do offer up some variation over the ten tracks and the playing time is kept sensible, they certainly have some good things to offer.

I like the choruses on most of the tracks here, although I think that the verses often slow down a little too much. And with tracks like YOLO you don’t really need reviewers writing something bad about you as the Nickelback-sounding song handles that itself, it is really poor and it should have been ditched immediately.

Weighing out YOLO is the brilliant track Higher that I really like and had all the tracks on the album been near that quality I would have given it a higher rating but they aren’t so they have to settle for the middle rating when we weigh it all together. I think that they try to cater to a too wide audience and end up not really making music for anyone.

They sure have the capacity; with a track like Higher they show what they are capable of doing. I just find it a bit sad that they don’t find that level more often on this album. Nevertheless, as little as they will thrill, as little will they disappoint so it is an album that probably won’t make a buyer disappointed and that isn’t too bad, is it?
