Rebellious, hard and modern is how the band Rebellious Spirit presents themselves when they are about to release their third album called New Horizons. An album that perhaps takes them to new horizons and it has a pretty good-looking artwork and the album itself is more or less as exciting as the artwork. But the question that I always have is do they really reach any new horizons and do they really offer up something rebellious?

In a way they do, their music is quite fresh and it is quite interesting. Though that was not my first thought, it was that the sound is somewhat lacking. I found that I did have some small issues with the sound in the first few songs, but the album is a grower and from the start I liked the calmer songs but the rest of the songs grows the more you hear the album. The sound could have been better but the songs are interesting, varied and really well made so after a few plays the little issue I had with the sound sort of faded away. But perhaps it isn’t right to call them rebellious but they have a fresh spirit and their album doesn’t sound like everything else.

The fact that it doesn’t sound like everything else is great; I think that the album is great. It is an exciting album with lots of depth and while it may not open in the best possible it comes alive after a few songs, the fifth one called Am I Right is close to magical – a brilliant song. And I also want to highlight the tracks called The Core and Give it a Try that are two outstanding tracks on a really strong album. I think that I can recommend this album, it has a lot to like, and the best parts are quite amazing.

Rebellious Spirit’s third album is well worth checking out, it may have some minor audio flaws but in the end it still hits the bullseye. You should check it out, I think it will be worth it for you. And in the end I would like to thank Rebellious Spirit for offering such an amusing record for driving.
