transcending obscurity

Henry Kane, sounds evil. The Broken Human’s Realm is the name of the album if we translate the title from Swedish, sounds bad. And it sort of is. Crust, death metal is what the press release state and that is probably a decent description, I would also think grindcore is a way to describe what we are hearing when we are listening to this Swedish one-man project.

Pretty brutal, aggressive, dark and angry, it has nothing in terms of melody or variation, it sounds like a building site with aggressive screaming vocals that are so brutal that you cannot hear a word said. I was a tad surprised when I read that the album had fifteen tracks, I think that it sounds like one very long track. And I am not impressed by the sound.

This album plays to the crowd of broken humans that like music that is aggressive and chaotic instrument abuse with a guy trying to sound like a devil. In my mind they tend to always fail and Henry Kane is no exception so fans of more melodic music can quickly deduce that this is not an album for them while the devotees perhaps go for the limited t-shirt bundle.

In all honesty I felt kind of broken after hearing this album a few times so I am glad to be done with it now. Perhaps that means that the album was rather successful.

HHHHHHH
