Ann My Guard is something as unusual as a Hungarian heavy band, as far as I know we have only reviewed one other Hungarian band on Hallowed and it was really bad. There is a different story with Ann My Guard, a band formed by a girl named Ezter who sings and plays the bass guitar in this band. They have one album before this one, it was released in 2014 and was less spacey than what we have here with a spacey cover and some Jupiter moons in the list of songs.

On the topic of the song list, it contains nine tracks and it plays for a short while and during that short while it has a decent variation. It is decent enough to keep you listening anyway. The vocals are good but nothing fantastic, and the same can be said about the production. I think the sound works pretty well but it is nothing that stands out, and that can be said about the album as a whole – there isn’t much about Ann My Guard that stands out as being original.

But they make a good album where all nine tracks are good, albeit with the fifth track Breathe the Sun as the only one really making a strong impression. But overall I like the album, and for anyone who likes female fronted easily accessible melodic rock music. It is catchy music with strong melodies and there is stuff to really enjoy here. It may not be a fantastic album but it is one that could be worth checking out anyway.

Ourania is a good album but maybe nothing that really stand out, and there is at least one track that is really memorable. A bit more originality and more hit songsw would have made this a great album.
