Crucified dreams, perhaps they martyr the dreams in order to make this first effort that is named Crucified Dreams. Windshades is the name of this Italian band, that gives us these crucified dreams – a three track EP that plays for fourteen minutes. That is what we get from this band, a female fronted power metal band that offers strong melodies and catchy choruses.

This EP is a fairly typical female fronted power metal album, three tracks and fourteen minutes of music also makes it pretty difficult to really form an opinion about the EP and the band – it seems more like a teaser to a coming album than a strong stand-alone release. The tracks are not that varied and even though the sound and the vocalist is good there is not much that catches my attention when I play through this EP.

It may not be that interesting but it is good, all three songs are pretty good but none of them stand out. I think they could have waited longer and made more songs, maybe released an album or at least an EP with more tracks so that we get something with a little bit more substance. I think they offer some interesting stuff but in the end it feels like there is something missing, like more songs.

It is hard to form an accurate opinion of a three-track release, it feels too short and when there are no real standout songs or parts it is even more difficult to feel drawn towards the album. I think this band shows a fair bit of promise but they really should have delivered more than three tracks and a quarter of an hour of music.
