We have a lot of Vivaldi on Hallowed these days, yesterday it was the Vivaldi Metal Project and now Lion Music is presenting a new season by Vivaldi where artist do their impressions on Vivaldi compositions. Mistheria, the man behind the Vivaldi Metal Project does also appear on this album, then we have several other musicians like Lars Eric Mattsson, Condition Red and others, there are eleven of them and they are listed in the track list on the left. It is fair to say that they are skilled musicians all of them. This is the third album Lion Music makes to present a classical composer, they have released on with songs of Bach and one with songs of Mozart and those were released last year.

It is classic Vivaldi compositions interpreted by modern rock artists with electric guitars and all those other modern things. There are no major reworking like on the Vivaldi Metal Project here; on this one we get the composition, no vocals – just the music. The Sound is very good and there is a nice coherency to the album, and I think that another good thing is that they have kept it simple, kind of like the opposite of the Vivaldi Metal project with just the bands/musicians and the song – eleven songs and 41 minutes playing time. I think this is a really solid production.

I like this one, it is good but I just might be thinking that because I like Vivaldi’s compositions but nevertheless it works really well for me. All the tracks are good and nothing really falls out of the frame, and I would say that this is probably just as good as the Vivaldi Metal Project but with only a fraction of the cost and manpower. I think Lion Music and their artists have put together a really impressive thing with this one and I can recommend it to all of you who like classical compositions, especially those that are performed in a slightly more modern rock kind of way.

It is a highly recommended album, and a lot more can be said about the artists and Vivaldi but there isn’t really any more to say than to make a salute and recommend that you look this album up for yourself. I think it is great.
