The trio who call themselves Stop Stop are back with a new album following their 2014-release and some 300 live shows. And it is on the live stage the trio’s music works best, as it is easily accessible and catchy with sing-along choruses and such. I suspect that they sell most of their albums to their concertgoers who will most likely enjoy them almost as much as they enjoyed seeing the band perform.

Glammy melodic rock is probably the best way to describe what we get, with catchy chorus and easily accessible melodies it is an album that is easy to like. Rough enough edges in production and a sound that feels very familiar, I would not claim that it is the most innovative album I have ever heard. Stylewise it offers no surprises and I would almost go as far as claiming that it is their last album with the same songs in slightly altered costumes.

I think they are quite correct in time to make this kind of music, as it is a time when people fear change and fear things that are different or new. They like things that are as they have always been and believe it was better in the past despite tons of evidence to the contrary, but of course they don’t listen to the evidence just claims that suit their view of the world. It is the same with music, so many bands just copy the old and Stop Stop is one of those, one of the best but still one of those bands that doesn’t really do anything own but they seem to be live performers on the first hand and the album are more made to support their live act, to add more material to their acts perhaps.

Yeah, it is a good album this one but as I already have saluted the pervious album that was more or less the same but slightly better, I don’t really think that this one does very much for me. Sure it has some great tracks like the opener and especially the one called Humbug as it can be worth listening to once or twice, and I really recommend it if you are a fan of this band already as it is more of the same as they have already done and you will like it. Stop Stop hasn’t really gone anywhere since their last album so for all you fans of stagnation (and you are many) this is a great piece of music.
