The Raimund Burke Orchestra is a pretty unique orchestra consisting of many Raimund Burkes and a few guest vocalists. The good Raimund takes a pretty unique approach towards rock music doing covers of swing music by well-known Glenn Miller but instead of brass he uses guitars. There are up to fourteen guitars on each track and you get the same kind of rich musical feel as you get from the original songs in their original appearance.

Fifteen tracks on this album, there is a decent variation over those tracks that are mostly instrumental but there are some with vocals. I like the sound of this album, the production is good and all the Burkes work well together as an orchestra. I should add that I think the vocals are quite good as well. I would think that Raimund Burke and all the other Raimund Burkes must have put down a great deal of time and effort into this album, I would say probably a lot more than what the listener is rewarded with.

I think that it is a good effort and a good album but I still can’t help but getting somewhat tired with the album after a few songs. Maybe it is because swing music isn’t my forte, but it could just be because the albums seems more like a curiosity than something really fresh and exciting. Maybe the Raimunds should think about writing original songs rather than doing covers of something done a long time ago because it doesn’t matter how well made it is, it is not really that original.

Thumbs up for the idea that is may be more interesting than the actual end result but that isn’t to say that it isn’t a poor album. I think that it is a rather good and catchy album and an impressive production. The best thing about it is that it is a break from the similitude of promos that usually clutter my inbox.
