German rockers Larrikins are back with a new album, they have released two albums before this one under their own label. I know this is rock music in German but if they promote it outside of Germany I think that a few more than the few lines in English in that was in the email could be nice. It take me quite a while to read German as I am not that fluent in the language of our southern neighbours. Just for information it would be nice with a list of band members and a discography in the press material as well. But then again, you cannot always get what you want so instead of moaning about lack of information and difficulty finding it on the interweb I look at what I get in terms of music.

It is melodic pop-rock sung in German, it reminds me a fair deal of the band Unherz that we have reviewed many times in the Hallowed chronicles to date. They have the same type of singer, the same style of music with catchy choruses and strong melodies. The singer is decent and the production is strong as well, the album is also varied enough to make 55 minutes feel a bit shorter.

It is a good album; the songs are catchy and easy to take to. Good melodies and an overall quality feel, these guys make a solid album without any major weaknesses. Although, if you are a nazi you may not like the album according to the promo mail about this album, that sounds great, as I hate Nazis - they are worthless creatures. Anyway, this album is certainly recommended if you like the similar bands but it may not be as appealing to the wider audiences – I am sure they’ll like it but they may not sing its praises.

I like the album, it has good songs and no songs that stand out from a negative viewpoint – though the same can be said about the positive standpoint. All the songs are quite even in quality, that makes the album a little bit lacking in the dynamic department and this will in term effect the longevity of the album. I think it is a pretty good album but maybe not a fantastic one, if you are not a Nazi you may find it very agreeable. Larrikins make a decent album, it could be worth checking out – especially if you enjoy German rock music.
