Last year we praised the album I of Everything by Swedish band Implode, now it is time for a new release by these guys and they have a fair bit to live up to if they want to better their highly acclaimed album. Like that one, this new release has a cool artwork. It is a tribute to punk band Anti Cimex, a five-track EP with death metal versions of punk songs is what we get. At first glance that may sound a little strange but these guys have been inspired by said band since the very beginning so it isn’t as strange as it may seem.

Musically it death metal versions of punk songs, so maybe somewhat simpler and shorter song than what is common in the genre but still not really that different in comparison with the previous album. Five tracks and eleven minutes of music, not that much variation but the EP is short so you will not be harmed by the small variation. Good production, powerful and heavy with deep dark almost evil vocals, kind of like it has always been with the band – so I think that it can be described as quality production.

Good quality production and good quality songs, I think we can describe this as a good EP – I like it. I think that fans of the band will enjoy the EP as well, although I doubt it will gain the band any new fans and I believe that us more peripheral fans will like to await an album rather than shell out money on this EP. I recommend this album for the fans of the band; maybe fans of Anti Cimex will find it interesting as well.

Five tracks, good tracks, that is what we get with this EP – none of the tracks really stand out in any direction. Therefore my ending conclusion is something as clever as stating that it is a very solid EP that should appeal to those who have liked what the band has done earlier – unfortunately I cannot think of anything better to write. I think it can be worth checking out.
