Christian Tolle is a guitarist who has been heard on many different albums and now he is rerecording his bestest songs with new vocalists on this album called Now & Then. It is his fourth album under the Christian Tolle Project moniker and it is one that features a fairly impressive list of guests and a white cover artwork with the guy playing the guitar on it. So what about this album featuring this whole array of handmade classic rock music?

If you get the CD you get thirteen tracks as the CD contains an alternate version of Changed as ending track while the digital has a dozen tracks. Musically there isn’t really much to say, as it is classic melodic rock/AOR, no strange things here just typical melodic rock music. Strong production, good sound, catchy choruses and good vocalists, fans of AOR should really look this way.

There are some strong hits on this album, and the rest of the songs are solid but nothing really special. I think it is one of those albums, one of those that don’t quite stand out from the rest of the albums in this genre. But even though it isn’t a standout album, it is still good and fans of the genre will probably not be disappointed if they get it. And the hit songs makes it worth checking out, those hits are Changed that I think is a very strong song. But the best one is the tenth track One Night Alone that has one of those perfect choruses that makes it worth listening to over and over again.

It may not be a standout, but it is good enough to give a few spins and with those great tracks I just mentioned makes it even more worth giving a spin. So it might not be the most outstanding album I have heard but I think it is definitely good enough to give a chance, especially if you like AOR.
