A dark figure Enthroned in Flesh could be the thing that Astrophobos think about with their new EP. One might think the band is interested in a moon of Mars, the one that isn’t Demios. Judging by the cover (and the title) we are dealing with a band in the darker regions of the metal world, a band with one album and one previous EP in the baggage. This new EP has 20 minutes playing time and that spread on four tracks, or two sides of a vinyl EP for the one who wants that – but you have to be a fan of the black metal genre to want that.

Rather typical black metal, moist cavern production and typical grunty vocals. Dark and harsh sound like is commonplace in this genre. There are no surprises on this album; it is a fairly typical album of the black metal genre. It is like they preaching for those already in the black metal flock, they will not win any new fans with this little EP but they will probably not scary any of theirs away either.

I can’t say that I am really impressed, it is a rather grey EP – not really bad but not really good either. There are some pretty good parts here and there but the EP as a whole is a rather grey one, perhaps grey metal is a better description of what we are getting when we listen to this EP. Not particularly impressive, it is an album that just is and will fit the genre fans’ tastes well while the rest of us can overlook this one without missing anything.
