This is the story about a Swiss band calling themselves Broken Fate and how they cross The Bridge Between, or just a review about this new album from this debuting Swiss band. The Bridge Between is their debut album, a 73-minute behemoth with fifteen songs that are said to be crossbreed between thrash metal, metalcore and hard rock. That isn’t a terribly inaccurate description but it could also be described as Swiss hard rock akin towards bands like Gotthard or Krokus but a little bit heavier and a bit rawer.

The names behind the production are well known and they have managed to create a great production for this album, the soundscape is really good with edgy sound and a raw freshness to it, very nice and modern. The vocals are edgy and good; I think the performance is very strong overall. One can have some considerations over the long playing time as 73 minutes is far longer than the album’s variations allows me to stay interested. A bit of darling killing would not have been to bad, fifteen tracks where most of them are a bit too similar is another indication as to where this band are lacking a little.

Overall though, I think that this is a pretty good album and it could be interesting to some. A very solid debut, that’s for sure. Problem is though that this album fails to really catchy my attention, it isn’t unique or interesting enough for that. Just being a well made and solid, good album just isn’t enough to stand out these days when there is so much music already out there and so much being released on a daily basis and this is one that you play and like and then forget about. There are some good things about the album and this is a fairly interesting debut so I don’t doubt that this band good have a good future if they find a little more of their own voice and maybe learn to be a bit more selective about which songs to keep and which to throw away, this album has way too many songs.

That also makes it difficult to pay enough attention to the songs that most of the time sound too similar so no song really stand out to me. Maybe the video track Rising to the Dream is that track but I don’t really think any song stand out that much. As stated before; it is a pretty good album but at the same time it is a little bit too forgetful to really grab my attention.
