IIt is fun to still receive one or two CDs every now and then, this is one of those coming from Italy along with another album. Of the two I chose this because of the ugly cover artwork figuring that maybe I could just listen and hate it to be done with it. It is never that easy. The cover guy looks a tad on the fat side but not like one you want to fight with. It is an italian trio, they released their debut album in 2011 and this is their second one cleverly known as II. They also have a name that makes internet searches show a lot of stuff not quite related to this band. Which means other reviews were a bit difficult to find but then again those are mainly for referencing what others think and no influence to me. Although it means I know a bit less about this band than I know about most other bands I review.

Quite ordinary rock music was my first impression. Then the vocals are a tad different compared with most other bands so they are not completely typical after all. Their music is quite a bit like what we see on the cover art, a bit fat and a bit powerful, perhaps a little bit of a dark nature. With ten tracks and little over the half hour mark the album does not require too much time and it has the variation to go with it as well. And a great deep voice which adds character and authority to the songs. Not the most impressive production I have heard but the one they use of budget character works really well for these songs so there isn’t anything to complain about in that regard.

The songs are all good as well, I have no complaints about the album in any regard. It is solid, well made and all of that. There isn’t much to say otherwise, the album is not very complex or different but really good and a fun showing off some interesting musical ideas. It is an album I recommend, plain and simple.

Best are the two ending tracks and the two that opens the albums are just behind. I find the last tack Devil’s Son(g) to be the one I like the best, it is a bit like a Johnny Cash song but with a bit more rock’n’roll feel to it. It is excellent and a great way to end an album. So, with that I think there is not much more than that to say really, it is a good album and you’ll probably not be disappointed if you check it out.
