Half of this band plays in Monster Magnet which is probably a bit of an additional pull to fame for this band. This is the third album of these guys and it is a green album, depicting an alien world with lots of strange characters. It is a cool looking cover art, it is exciting and seems to promise something fun. The backside isn’t as exciting though but it is what is inside that matters most anyway. Apparently their last album half-appealed to me but it was too long, I didn’t even remember having reviewed it until I checked our website, that’s how much of an impression that album made, so what about the new one

Stylewise the same I suppose, it is seventies styled hardrock with modern production. beefy riffs and a classic styled vocalist. Nothing new or revolutionary comes from these guys but they do what they do very well, they are very good at what they do. In short I would say classic metal/hardrock with a touch of sci-fi like a mixture of Star Trek and Star Wars crossed with a touch of Babylon 5 and Farscape (just one of those pointless silly comparisons you read in web reviews all the time, thought I’d give it a go). But seriously, think seventies like Zeppelin or something and modernise it to today’s standard and you have a decent idea of what to expect. Decent variation of the ten tracks and the album playing time is about right.

A good album when sliding around the icy roads in the car, that is one thing I have concluded after playing this album a few times in the car stereo. But it is more than just an album to enjoy while passing slow idiots in traffic, it is a likeable album to just listen to as well. Maybe not the best I have ever heard and in the end I will probably remember it just as much as the previous album which I even forgot I reviewed but it is good nevertheless.

No track really stand out but the opening is the one I recall the most, it sets a good tone for the rest of the album. A tone it keeps until it ends, good from start to finish. I think it is an album that the fan of nostalgic hardrock will find impressive, so if you are one of those I think you should take a good look at this album.
